Frequently Asked Questions

The short answer is NO. Unlike a reformer Pilates class, you will spend little to no time resting on your back while taking a Lagree Megaformer class. The Megaformer is designed much differently than a traditional reformer, It is approximately 44″ longer and has 2 large stable platforms at both ends. There are also 2 separate sets of cables that connect the carriage (middle section) allowing exercises not possible on a reformer to be performed. It allows you to move seamlessly from one exercise to the next, keeping the heart rate up and muscles effectively working throughout the entire class. The Megaformer and class structure provide an intensity and cardiovascular elements that cannot be achieved with traditional Pilates. The workout method and results are like night and day.

Whether you are a beginner, just getting back into a fitness routine, or wanting more individual instruction, you may want to consider a Foundations Class to get you started. This is not necessary, as all classes can be modified for each individual regardless of experience level. Please DO notify your instructor upon arrival of any injuries or physical limitations that may need to be accommodated. We want to set you up for success! You can expect a clean workout studio, personal space, your own megaformer for the duration of the class (no machine swapping here),  individual form correction with an emphasis on safety, group class energy and encouragement and positive motivation from instructors who love what they do.

Please show your instructor and fellow classmates respect by arriving 10 minutes prior to class. If you are new to the studio, please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to class to meet the instructor and get a brief introduction to the studio, machine and method. If you arrive right at the class start time, please understand that your instructor respectfully will not be able to provide a proper introduction, so please connect with them after class with questions.

We can totally relate to life happening. We recommend giving yourself enough time to park and get checked into the studio a few minutes early. If you do not arrive within 10 minutes of the scheduled class time, your space may be given if someone shows up hoping to take a spot in class. If this is your first visit, thank you for understanding that for your safety, and the safety of the other members in class, we cannot allow first timer late arrivals past 5 minutes of the class starting.

Free open parking is available at our location. As this parking lot accommodates 3 other businesses, please be respectful and park to the far east side of the lot if space is available there.  There are no assigned spaces for any of the businesses-it is open parking.

Classes range from 40-50 minutes (average of 45). To maximize your workout time and due to the nature of the method, the format does not include a traditional warm up or cool down that is seen in most group fitness classes. Also, breaks will not be cued-it is intended that we keep our muscles engaged the entire time. However-if a break is needed, please feel free to take a quick recovery break and get right back into the next set of exercises. Feel free to stretch prior to class and give your body recovery time between classes. More details will be given regarding all of this in the Foundations class. If you have any questions about any of this, please ask. We’re happy to answer questions and share our knowledge and tips with you.

You’re going to sweat!! Feel free to bring a small workout towel and definitely bring a water bottle! For safety, no glass water bottles are permitted in the studio. A water fountain is available for use as well as refilling bottles. No cell phones during class; please be respectful to your instructor, other class members and yourself (you deserve this time).

YES! For safety and comfort, grip socks are required for all classes to prevent slipping on the machine and for general hygiene. Feel free to bring your own, or they will be available for purchase in the studio. Make sure to come a bit early if you need to select and purchase a pair for class.

We recommend wearing comfortable, form-fitting sportswear without metal or plastic trim (can be damaging to equipment). Baggy clothing is not recommended as it may be in the way to make smooth transitions (finding foot/hand placement) or changing springs between exercises. If you have long hair, bring something to tie it back. We will have complimentary hair bands if you need one. Please remove jewelry prior to class to prevent it being caught in the machine, causing damage to your jewelry, the machine or both. To be considerate of fellow clients with allergies/sensitivities, we ask that you refrain from wearing strong scents.

We do not have lockers. We do have small storage spaces for you to place a minimal amount of personal items (shoes, cell phone, keys, small hand bag) while you are in class.

Congratulations! We love our mamas and many  have done Lagree throughout various stages of their pregnancies. For new clients who are pregnant and new to the workout, we do not advise starting out with group classes. We instead recommend a private session and/or the Foundations class. However, clients who have been regularly attending classes may continue working out with us as long as you have received approval from your doctor. Please contact us directly if you have any questions.
